The Peaine Township Board met last evening (August 15, 2019).  Among other actions, they took further steps to complete an application to the National Flood Insurance Program that, when done, will allow those in the Army Corps’ revised flood plain to apply for federal flood insurance coverage. Pam Grassmick reported to the board that the DNR has approved $7000 to be used by CAKE for Invasives treatment .  She asked that the Board approve $3000 in local funding to help with the work when the CAKE teams return in the fall. The board is looking at that along with sending a letter concerning the development of Garlic Mustard, another invasive, along Kuebler Trail, at McCauley’s Point, Eagle Hill and at the south end lighthouse—and funding a trip by an entomologist to study the EAB traps at the end of the season.
