BIA members and those interested in the BIA’s mission are invited to attend the Association’s 2020 Annual Meeting.  To make the meeting as safe as possible, we have changed locations to the Beaver Island Golf Course (just south of Welke Airport) where we can meet outside. A tent will shade us from the sun and any rain. We will forgo cheese, crackers and other snacks this year to avoid the risks associated with food buffets, so please plan to bring your own snack and drink if you’d like to have something during the meeting. We will have bottled water on ice.

Your Board has been busy over the fall, winter and spring since our last annual meeting (COVID-19 notwithstanding), so our proposed agenda covers a lot of ground:

President’s Remarks
Upcoming High-Water Webinar
Nomination of New Board Members
Treasurer’s Report
Updates on: Marina & Parks | School  | Invasives Trails |Great Lakes Islands Alliance | Broadband
BIA Communications & Membership
Questions & Good of the Order

As has been the case for almost all non-profit organizations, this has been a challenging year so far for your BIA on the financial front. We had to cancel Warblers on the Water and annual renewals are behind pace. Please come prepared to renew your membership for 2020 (if you have not already done so). Better yet, do it online at the BIA website right now.

Speaking of our website, please visit your BIA on the web–especially if you have not done so lately. We have continued our effort to provide coverage of meetings on the island as well as other reports we believe will be of interest to BIA members. You’ll find it at

Finally, it will help us prepare for the meeting if you could let us know how many from your family plan to attend. You can do that by clinking the appropriate link below:

Thank you for your commitment to supporting environmental and economic sustainability on the island we all love and share. Your board looks forward to seeing you (at a safe social distance) on Tuesday.
