The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has pegged $226 million for design and pre-construction work on a lock and dam project to keep Asian Carp out of Lake Michigan.  The construction would be 50 miles downstream of Chicago. The funding is coming from the federal infrastructure bill signed into law in November. The entire project will cost almost $900 million and will take eight years to complete. There are more details in this report from Bridge Michigan: https://www.bridgemi.com/michigan-environment-watch/feds-earmark-226-million-great-lakes-invasive-carp-project.
