There have been a number of recent reports of ORVs seen operating on Island beaches and the dunes. One rider took an ORV up Mount Pisgah. That has island officials are reminding everyone that island beaches and dunes…and most Island trails are off limits to motorized vehicles. If you spot an ORV operating where it should not be, use 911 to contact the Sherriff’s office for immediate assistance. Officials say running ORVs where they are prohibited is a serious violation that they should address immediately.
Have an ORV and wonder where you can operate it on the Island. The simple answer is only on county roads. Beaches, dunes and trails are off limits. The 2025 Chamber guide has rules and maps for O-R-V operation. You can pick that up at the BIC Center.
